What is Hackanomous?
Hackanomous (#hackanomous, Website) is a Hack Club YSWS where you build your AI skills, make something awesome to show off, and win AI credits and more. Submit any AI or ML project (subject to T&Cs) and earn stickers, credits, or even win big.
How long will Hackanomous run for?
The end date is still to be confirmed, but it will run for at least two months. This may change.
⏱️ Time Tracking
How do I track my time spent coding or designing?
Time tracking is important for project reviews. Use Hackatime, a free open‑source tool for Hack Clubbers. It measures time spent on your project. If your editor isn’t supported, you can use Lapse.
📤 Submitting Projects and Getting Bolts
How do I submit my project?
Submitting your project sends it to reviewers who give feedback and trigger your bolt payout.
When will I get my bolts?
You receive bolts once your project is approved. The amount depends on quality and effort.
What can I spend my bolts on?
You can spend bolts on hardware funding or in the shop for AI credits, stickers, and more. Saving bolts lets you win bigger prizes.
💬 Hack Club Slack Issues
Why can’t I access most Slack channels?
When you join Hack Club, you get a Hack Club Slack account. To unlock all channels, open your Slackbot DM, scroll to the top, and follow the steps.
📜 Rules and Restrictions
Who can take part?
Hackanomous is open to ages 13–18. Age verification is required before shipping prizes.
What kinds of projects can I make?
Any AI or ML project. Hardware and software are reviewed differently. No vibe coding. AI usage must be declared and under 30%.
Can I submit my project to other Hack Club programs?
No double‑dipping. Hackanomous projects cannot be submitted to other reward‑granting programs.
Can I collaborate with others?
Yes, up to 5 people. Each contributor must have their own commits, Hackatime hours, and project page.
Can I use AI?
Yes, as long as you contribute meaningful work and declare usage. Max 30% AI.
📦 Orders
Will I need to pay shipping?
No, Hack Club covers shipping internationally.
Will I need to pay customs fees?
Depends on the item. Check the shop or ask in the help channel.
How long do items take to arrive?
Up to a month depending on location and item.
Can I track my order?
Stickers and small items have no tracking. Larger items include tracking.
